Recognizing a significant drop in commercial real estate development as a result of the already tightening of the credit markets in the latter part of 2007 and in advance of the economic collapse in the 3Q of 2008, we made a transition to the energy sector, notably, wind energy development in the state of North Dakota. We formed Hartland Wind Farm, LLC, (HWF) structured a partnership with an energy firm in Texas and commenced the development of the Hartland Wind Farm. In a revolutionary fashion, secured over 75,ooo acres in an unprecedented time-frame. Most notably, every document is uniform in content and utilizes a formulaic approach to revenues with our nearly 200 Landowner partners in the project. We set a standard in the state of North Dakota and getting the attention of the state legislature, Statutorial rules were passed that followed our model, now firms such as Florida Power & Light, NV Energy, and others were following our lead. We continue with the development of HWF through the MISO queue process and marketplace negotiations with such firms as GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi and Vestas as equipment suppliers and financing agents such as Barclays, JP Morgan and GE Capital.
Recognizing the relatively unlimited potential of the renewable and alternative energy markets, Denali and its family of companies is underway with various commodity and energy based projects and efforts from NGL capture, fractionation and distribution, bulk ammonia refinement, Bio-Fertilizer production and BioMass & Gasification applications.
