South Dakota Denali Energy of South Dakota, Inc. is a sister company to Denali Energy, Inc. both of Baxter, MN. Denali Energy, Inc. focuses on the development of renewable energy, primarily wind farms and biomass projects in North and South Dakota.
Denali SD has recently relocated to the city of Aberdeen in South Dakota's Brown County and is working on behalf of and for the benefit of regional clientele throughout a five-state area. Denali SD is currently working on the development of a new wind farm project, the Campbell County Wind Farm. Through this development process, Denali SD creates mutually beneficial strategic partnerships with landowners and community stakeholders to stimulate and revitalize rural economies. Campbell County Wind Farm will consist of up to 140 turbines and 200 megawatts at an investment of nearly $600 million. The firm is also conducting feasibility studies for potential bio-diesel and municipal waste biomass projects in Northeastern South Dakota.
As Denali Energy of South Dakota has been chosen as the designated developer for the Campbell County Wind Farm project, they are now meeting with landowners in the Campbell County area to discuss the terms of the option and easement agreements for the wind farm.
In addition, Denali Energy of South Dakota and sister company, Denali Energy, Inc. based in Baxter, MN will collaborate with American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) as they evaluate the feasibility of building a multi-state, extra-high voltage transmission project across the Upper Midwest to support the development of renewable energy.

FAQ & FACTS

         The
DENALI CURRENT
AEP proposes building the first 765-kilovolt (kV) extra-high voltage transmission lines to connect major wind developments in the Dakotas and surrounding states to the existing 765-kV network that ends near Chicago. The proposal is part of AEP's vision of an expanded national transmission grid to support the development of large-scale renewable generation and more efficiently use existing electricity production and delivery infrastructure.
Denali Energy of South Dakota is the only South Dakota-based wind developer and brings a first-hand understanding of rural and small town sensibilities to its management approach, therefore, landowners are choosing to contact us as we work together to help "Revitalize Rural America." Denali Energy of South Dakota is currently in discussions with landowners representing over 305,000 acres to locate wind projects throughout the State of South Dakota.

Denali SD is involved in a multi-family housing development project in Aberdeen. With a zero percent vacancy and 1,200 new jobs on the horizon, Denali SD was called upon to perform site selection, develop, finance and oversee construction of up to 200 apartment units, and accompanying retail development at the intersection of two US highways in Aberdeen.
Denali is currently exploring several options for financing the project within the current economic climate, and is planning to begin the Aberdeen apartment project with 64 units in the first phase. The remaining 136 units would be constructed later in 2009.
